There is a collection of prototypical goods vehicles, with quite a few open wagons waiting to be re-wheeled from OO and some 'brown' covered stock as well. The layout will eventually feature a prototypical stable representing the Thirties/Forties period, but like the locomotives, it's an ongoing project.
The jetty was used to off load the coal from ships (jetty boats) via two electric cranes on to railway wagons. Sam Hawke’s horse pulled the individual coal trucks and made them up into trains when they were full. They took the coal to Torquay Gas works and Newton Abbot Power Station, and a barge also delivered loads to Dartmouth Gas works.
There was a goods depot at the back of the station under the charge of Mr Penwarden receiving all the incoming and out-going goods and luggage which in those days it could be dispatched in advance by GWR to your destination anywhere in the district, and delivered in one of the two lorries and three vans based at Kingswear Station. We're now on the case to acquire more suitable wagons, especially to run as 'empties' on our eventual coal train, especially where interior detail is an important factor. Before long, there will be a properly detailed rake, and here's a long six plank N E wagon in the sidings. The Hawksworth carriages in the background are also going to need some detailing and weathering, so hopefully we'll be able to get to that soon as well.

The Mess and Tool van has duly arrived from Maurice Pearce, and the quality of the laser cut timber body is excellent. The prototype was a matchboard clad vehicle, and it's going to look very authentic when finished and weathered. I’ve already ordered the underframe, bogies and some detailing parts from Andrew Hartshorne at Comet, as well as gathering reference from the ever helpful Kevin Wilson who did a 7mm scale one a few years ago.
